The Healthier Spiced Pumpkin Latte

I love all the fall flavors, I do! The marketing at the coffeehouses can be enticing... unless you know the terrible-for-you ingredients lurking behind their beautifully rich marketing photos and mouth watering smells.

From corn syrups, dyes and other chemicals and even "natural" ingredients like carrageenan that cause inflammation, intestinal wall damage and is carcinogenic, to practically coma inducing sugar spikes, these fall treats can really do a number on us!


Stop the maddness, but keep the flavors! Enjoy a good-for you treat!


The Healthier Homemade Spiced Pumpkin Latte

  • 2 Tbsp organic pumpkin puree (make your own and toast the seeds for a nutrient dense snack)

  • 1/4 cup concentrate chai tea (from the tea bag, not the sweetened ready to drink kind)

  • 1/4 cup organic espresso/dark coffee (optional)

  • 1/2 cup organic (non-carageenan containing) coconut milk or other non-dairy milk

  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/4- 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 Tbsp erythritol or Sukrin Gold Brown Sugar substitute for a richer caramel/fall flavor or real maple syrup (but it will add about 13-14 g sugar)

DIRECTIONS:

On the stove top add to a small pot on medium heat all your wet ingredients. Whisk constantly, as it begins to froth add your sugar and spices, whisk well and pour into a fun fall mug! Enjoy
